TORTURE GARDEN BRAZIL 27TH & 28TH JANUARY 2012

I am super happy to announce that my first international gigs for 2012 will be Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

We are doing the 2 Torture Garden events back to back !!! Lucky we are seasoned professionals : )

I am performing my brand new show 'The Story of the Eye' and perenial favourite 'The Queen of the Night'.

My Birthday will subsequently be spent chilling out on Ipanema Beach ... which will be my first day off in 2012 !!

Ok so it is not the over arching grace of Deep Space ... More like crashing around in the confines of a tin can (read: Space Ship) ... but none the less .... I did it : ) !!

OMG Classic - Full Length Original Recording of 'Swinging From the Chandelier' my Jerwood Award Winning show from 2004 !! Complete with the birth of The Diamond Pussy, Blood Drinking, Naked Tap Dancing, a dodgey German accent and more !! Starring Empress Stah as Dolly Diamante, Directed by Mark Tate, Sound by Zoe Hart, Costume Satya James.

A few months after this performance I was hit by a red London Bus whilst cycling, I recovered but time had moved on, this show was never performed again.

'THE STORY OF THE I' @ Borderline Biennial, France

In September 2011 I created a new piece of work for the 'Boderline Biennial- Survive the Apocalypse'

month long event at 'The Abode of Chaos' in France.

George Bataille's 'The Story of the Eye' was the theme for the weekend of performances that I was involved in, and so I worked with imagery from the book as well the themes of Apocalypse and Chaos .... my favourite invention is the new eyeball butt plug that I can actually perform an aerial routine with, while it is inserted !!

Here is a documentary video of the whole weekend .... my show 'The Story of the I' along with an impromtu Interview, is featured at about 37 minutes in and I also appear at the end with a performance of the 'Queen of the Night'.

BORDERLINE BIENNALE 2011 - ABODE OF CHAOS

AUGUST 18th - SEPTEMBER 18th

Art is dead and we know it, killed by mundane cancers.

I am presenting my new performance 'The Weeping Chandelier' on the 17th September,

inspired by George Bataille's 'The Story of the Eye'.

The show title belongs to a song by the Tiger Lillies.

Art is dead and many so-called avant-gardes are already obsolete. By transforming contemporary art into basic consumables, whose originals become speculative titles and their reproductions simple decorative accessories sold at super markets, the Temple Merchants have stripped art of its conceptual essence and its sense of critique. Amidst the cemetery of contemporary creations, the artist becomes a mere grave-digger of preconceived ideas; a pirate of our amputated reality, his role must be to show what we deny to see, as opposed to trying to please the masses. Art cannot be such without the commitment through which the artist expresses himself beyond consensus, apriorism and censorship.

Art cannot be such without freedom.
