SPACE MOMENTS GALLERY

A few of my favourite moments in space and time.

KOSMICA, LONDON

Empress Stah gave a presentation about her space project and experience of 'floating in zero gravity' at a Kosmica event in London.

Kosmica is presented by The Arts Catalyst and curated by Nahum Mantra.

Each KOSMICA session is unique: bringing together the cosmically curious and culturally quirky space community for a social mix of art–space programmes - a film screening, performance or live concert with a short presentation, talk and debate about alternative and cultural uses of space. Empress Stah is a London based aerial artist and avant garde cabaret performer with a life long ambition to make a show in Outer Space. Stah recently came one step closer to realising this dream when she experienced microgravity for the first time, aboard a commercial flight with the Zero G Corporation. She will be presenting footage taken aboard this flight and will talk about the thinking behind her ACE funded research and development project 'Stah-Lite in Space'; what she intends to do in Zero G when she gets her hands on the Russian's plane; and will outline her vision for 'Stah-Lite and the Stah Whores Corporation', which is a new show that has been commissioned for The Spill Festival 2012/13.

ISEA 2013 @ SYDNEY UNIVERSITY

STAH LITE IN STAH LAND

INFINITE SPACE

Infinite Space was a Research and Development project supported by the Arts Council of England,
The National Center for Circus Arts and The Esme Fairbairn Foundation.

'Infinite Space' uses aerial artistry and other circus feats, combined with mapped video projection and motion tracking sensors, to create a visually rich performance, that explores the psychological and physiological response, of the human mind and body, to living in a space habitat.

Wearable motion tracking sensors and infrared camera's are used for real time generated projections.

We developed the motion graphics performances further, after this initial piece, check it out here.

Supported by the Arts Council of England, The National Centre for Circus Arts & The Esmee Fairbairn Foundation

THE STAR CARD - SPILL FESTIVAL OF PERFORMANCE TAROT

Empress Stah was commissioned by the Spill Festival to create ‘The Star’ card for the SPILL Performance Tarot project photographed by Manuel Vason. This commission came at a crucial point at the outset of Stah’s journey and was in fact the inspiration to begin it in earnest.
