Empress Stah is an internationally renowned Aerial Artist, Cabaret Theatre Performer, Show Producer and Director, famed for her highly stylised, often provocative, utterly unique performances. Stah has sold out shows at the Soho Theatre, been commissioned by the London Wonderground, collaborated with electro clash super star Peaches, and headlined the season of Ibiza Rocks House at Pacha.

Empress Stah’s best known work includes 'The Raunch', ‘Empress Stah in Space', ‘Swinging from the Chandelier’ and ‘The Very Best of Empress Stah’. Stah has continually toured the world performing solo shows from Tokyo to New York and Moscow, Rio to Sydney and Miami.

Empress Stah is an internationally renowned, Aerial Circus Artist, Cabaret Theatre Performer, Show Director and Producer, with an ongoing project to make a performance in Outer Space.

Zero Central is a company that Empress Stah established, with her husband Graham Sugarlump Power, in 2015. Zero Central produced ‘Moonshine’ for Club Spiegel at the London Wonderground, commissioned by Underbelly Productions. The umbrella of this company has provided a platform for Empress Stah to evolve her career as a director and producer, as well as forge relationships with ‘The Space’ website based in Birmingham and the UK Space Agency.

‘Stargasm / Light in Places’ is a collaboration between Empress Stah and cult rock star Peaches, that features the worlds first and only laser buttplug, performed on an aerial hexagon. The track and accompanying video of the act was released ahead of Peaches 2015 album ‘Rub’. This act was originally conceived for ‘Empress Stah in Space’ and headlined ‘Ibiza Rocks House’ at Pacha Ibiza for the 2014 summer season.

‘A prismatic intersection of sex, circus and special effects’ – New York Times

‘Infinite Space’ is a show that was researched and developed in 2014 with support from the National Centre for Circus Arts, via a Lab:Time grant, with additional support from the Arts Council of England. This project saw the development of a body of work that uses wearable sensors and infrared camera’s to create real time, interactive motion graphics that are projected over and behind circus performances.

‘Empress Stah in Space’ is an ongoing project, since 2008, to make a performance in Outer Space. As a part of this project Empress Stah has experienced Zero Gravity aboard a parabolic flight in the US, produced video’s that have been screened in the Tank Modern Tanks and created a one-hour solo show that is the title piece of the project. This solo show ‘Empress Stah in Space’ was commissioned for the SPILL Festival of Performance, funded by the Arts Council of England, directed by Ron Athey and sold out it’s runs at the prestigious Soho Theatre, London and Dance East, Ipswich.

‘The Very Best of Empress Stah” is a self-produced cabaret extravaganza also featuring acts by Rhyannon Styles, Dusty Limits & Le Gateaux Chocolate. This show premiered at the Soho Review Bar, London in 2007, and went on to enjoy sold out tours to the Adelaide & Brighton Fringe Festivals, Queer Up North & The Barbican Theatre, Plymouth.

In 2003 Empress Stah received a Jerwood Circus Award for her solo show ‘Swinging from the Chandelier’. The full-length show premiered as part of the Spring Board Season at the Circus Space, London in 2004, with excerpts going on to become her signature pieces, headlining cabaret lineups from Erotica to The Brit Awards to Lost Vagueness at all the major UK Festivals.

During her glittering 16 year career, Empress Stah has graced stages worldwide, including but not limited to, London, New York, Tokyo, Moscow, Rio, Montreal, Chicago, Sydney, and Tel Aviv, whilst sharing the bill with big names including Cirque Du Soleil and Dita Von Teese. Private Clients include Damien Hirst, Harvey Nichols, Smirnoff, Cosmopolitan Magazine and Philippe Starck.

Torture Garden, the world’s largest Fetish, Body Art & Burlesque Club, has provided the stage for the development and premier of Stah’s body of cabaret work, since 2000. The people attending these events has allowed Stah to develop her provocative and controversial style of show, for an audience that is entertained rather then shocked by the content.

Empress Stah has been a headline act for all of the major Neo Burlesque and Cabaret Clubs of the new millennium. These include a residency at The Supper Club, London, appearances at The Box, a guest spot at La Clique and The Crazy Horse.

‘Light Up Your Life’ was the first series of performances that mark the official start date of Empress Stah’s career, 1998, at a time when she was still known as Stah Power Girl. Connections Nightclub in Perth is where it all began with Stah getting her start in Circus training with the Freemantle based company Bizircus.

In 1999 Empress Stah moved from Australia to Europe with her Wondertwin, Commander Star. They survived by living in squats and made money by charging tourists for photographs, whilst working their flamboyant daywear.
