Grumble Boogie is an aerobic dance class led by performance artist Betty Grumble. An hour long dance meditation, heart pump
and exercise in Thank You Body.
Grumble Boogie is a place to be with our bodies, in joy, in playfulness, warmth and possibility. Grumble Boogie is an open platform class,
all levels of movement welcome.
Betty Grumble will play a DJ set for the remainder of the event, so you stay on the dance floor or head to the chill out space to
rest your legs and chat with friends.
Our venue is in black out. There will be projections, decor, mirror ball lights and all the trimmings to give that authentic night club vibe, without the late night and hangover, ready for an
energised Monday morning start.

The World Republic of the Notoriously Glorious is where you can find me this April 12th , in the blue mountains, for the launch of burlesque super queen Imogen Kelly’s new show for all queerdoes and their allies.
Hovering above the skyline at Sydney Olympic Park in November, performing as part of the outdoor park activation, ambient entertainment, for a series of Cold Play concerts, in collaboration with Damian of ‘In the Park Events’, who commissioned the new act.
I choreographed a new routine to the Cold Play song ‘We Pray’ and performed it 3 times a day, for 4 days, rigged from our Aerial Pyramid, which I am licensed and insured to rig.

Zero Central Circus, a new company I launched in Australia in 2021 is now 3 years old and has its own permanent venue, ZCC SPACE, in the heart of Mittagong, the small town south of Sydney where I was born and raised and have returned to after a 30 year absence.
Having my own venue was an expected development, shall we say a little kick out of the nest, and I am so happy as it is now a period of growth and expansion for me and my school. A place for me to rehearse, prepare my classes, learn and teach more skills and keep the aerial circus career that I love, alive, which is a special challenge as I have also recently turned 50. What even is that ?
It is a work in progress and I have set up a fundraiser to buy more equipment including trapezes, a tight wire and stilts, so we can bring the circus to life here in the Southern Highlands.

‘Empress Stah in Space’ was conceived in 2006 upon the discovery of the pioneering work by the Arts Catalyst aboard parabolic zero gravity flights. Emboldened by the improbability, Empress Stah set her sights as far as they could reach and embarked on an artistic journey to make a performance in outer space.
The journey shares its name with a solo show commissioned by the Pacitti Company for the SPILL Festival of Performance and funded by the Arts Council England, in 2011, the same year that Empress Stah first experienced weightlessness aboard a parabolic flight with the Zero Gravity Corporation.
Set at the edge of chaos, the shows non-linear narrative was transcribed through trance and writing sessions between Empress Stah and the shows director, seminal body artist Ron Athey, which took place at the disused RAF Bentwaters in Suffolk, the site of the biggest, purported, UFO/Military incident in Europe.
‘Stargasm’ is an aerial circus act performed with laser beams emitting from Empress Stah’s uranus. The conception and invention of the laser butt plug can be traced directly to a failed funding application to the Wellcome Trust to charter a zero gravity fight with the Russian Space Agency and make a 3D film of Empress Stah and cult rock star Peaches, floating and crashing around inside the plane.
Peaches went on to write the track ‘Light in Places’ for Empress Stah’s ‘Stargasm’, upon being given the words Iconoclasm and Stargasm, which had beamed down via Ron Athey at Bentwaters on the day we spent channelling the unknowable mysteries.
Empress Stah is a genre defying performance artist who fuses sublime aerial artistry with provocative and thought provoking performances.
Space Feminisms makes a radical enquiry into how earthly power structures are already expanding into our skies, facilitating a collaborative and interdisciplinary platform for scholars, artists, and designers to imagine radical constructions of human futures beyond Earth. At the intersection of scientific, cultural, social, and artistic speculations, the book gathers leading scholars, scientists, artists, and designers to develop innovative tactics and disruptive participations to create generative, alternative, and radical futures of and in space.

I am totally honoured to be performing at this event for World Pride Sydney, and super excited to be hooking up again with the one and only Peaches, for a performance of Stargasm / Light in Places.
‘Ultra Violet is the premier event for LGBTQIA+ women during Sydney WorldPride. DJs and Producers Sveta Gilerman and Jess Hill, with Jesswar, Bec Sandridge and Okenyo and international icon Peaches will transform Sydney Town Hall’s vaulted spaces into a party event that immerses and devours.’
